2.Why is Pax amazed that Bristle’s brother is able to seemingly fly?  What do you think he’s really doing?  And why might Pax not have learned such a skill?

3. Bristle seems irritated by her brother’s antics and yet Pennypacker reveals on page 39 that “her love for him [was] obvious”.  What are actions that Bristle takes that illustrate that love?

  1. pax is amazed that bristles brother can seemingly fly because fox cant fly. meanwhile he isnt even flying. pax could not have learned this skill anyway because he doesnt live out in the wild like bristle or her brother.

    1. I think you should give a detail why pax thinks the runt fox is flying also add how he "flew".

    2. I think you should add more details. Like add quotes to your writing. Also add a conclusion to make it a complete paragraph.

    3. In the beggining of each sentence you have to capitilize. In the last sentence Pax could learn this skill anyday when he was jumping.

  6. 1: Pax acts amazed since this is the "first" time he has seen another fox as he claims
2: Pax thinks Bristle's brother flew because Pax has never been higher then 6 feet from ground as it says in the text and has never really been that high up and didnt know much about wild foxes or other ones and believes other foxes besides him can fly, as for what really happened Runt Bristle's brother jumped from a tree high up from the ground, Pax was almost all his life a house pet and didnt have places where he can climb up high and jump off as fox, even if there was a place when he was young hes probably to big now, also since he has never seen another fox he doesnt know what they are capable of.
3: Bristle is irritateded because of her brother Runt but after all that she still loves her brother and shows it like the time she didnt want Runt playing with Pax because she didnt know if Pax was really a good influence on her brother. She also stops Runt from jumping off of things as she doesnt want him getting hurt if he makes a wrong move.

    1. I think in your first answer you should of added more evidence how Pax reacted to Bristle and why he did. Also try to add how "he claims".

  7. #3: Bristle is mad at her brother Runt, because she doesn't want her brother to play with Pax. She thinks that Pax is a bad influence for Runt. However she still loves him.

    1. Nicole,if Mrs.D'angelo used a piece of text evidence i think you should use that evidence to make your writing better and more discriptive

    2. Add why she is mad at her brother and why she doesn't want her brother play with pax. But, I like how you pharased, but next time add quotes

  8. Pax encounters Bristle as a female not a vixen. Pax reacts frightened to Bristle for example in the text it states " Pax was so startled that he nearly toppled from the oak trunk he'd be drowsing on". Bristle reacts like he is an intruder to her home for example in the text it states "This is my territory".

  10. Question#2: Pax cat fly so it is impossible for him to fly. He is a fox so he cant fly. Pax cant be flying so he is probably been with a bird, or something that flies so he tried and then he could'nt. But pax couldnt have done such thing because he is a fox. So a fox cant fly or do anything like that.

    1. I like how you restated the question and answered it. Next time the second word "cat" does not make sense with the sentence, I think it should be can't. And the question states" Why is Pax amazed that Bristle’s brother is able to seemingly fly? What do you think he’s really doing? And why might Pax not have learned such a skill?" So you answered the first part of the question of how pax didn't fly, but you didn't answer why pax was amazed that he seemingly flying.

  11. Question 1: Pax encounters Bristle as a female fox. Pax reacts happy because he has never seen another fox before. It states from the story "Bristle growled, and Pax retreated to watch from a safe distance." I think Bristle reacts mad or angry because it says she growled at Pax.

Question 2: Pax is amazed that Bristle's brother is able seemingly fly because Pax has never been that high in the air before so he thinks it's amazing. Bristle's brother Runt jumped so high he jumped higher than a tree and he was on the ground when he jumped. Pax could jump high but not as high as Bristle's brother Runt did.

Question 3: Bristle seems irritated because of her brother Runt. Bristle still love's her brother Runt because they are brother and sister. The actions are that Bristle tells her brother Runt to stay away. It states from the story "Bristle bared her teeth and snarled at her brother. Dangerous. Stay away." That tells me Bristle doesn't want Runt getting hurt.

  12. pax reacts to vixen as scared because she growls at him and he backs away. but vixen acts defensive to pax because she gives him a warning by growiling at him.

pax is amazed because he cant jump that high (fly)

  13. 1. The vixen was scared of pax because on age 36 it says"she sniffed and bristled in distrust at the human scent on him."The vixen also sniff him closely.

  14. 2.Pax is amazed that bristle is able to fly because pax never seem that high before. They were doing things that pax couldn't do. Pax didn't learned that skill because he is used to being with humans not wild animals.

  16. question 1: Bristle reacted calmly to get his scent. To prove this it states on page 36"the vixen paced over, and Pax drew in her scent" this shows he was trying to see if she smelled like Pax so he had a clue.

  17. Question#2:Pax can't fly because he is a fox ,and foxs don't have wings so they can't fly. It would be impossible because PAX is an animal not a bird and all animals walk on ground. Also bristles brother jumped so high almost bigger than a tree PAX was so amazed. So Pax is amazed because he can't even jump that high.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 2. Pax is so amazed what bristle did because he had never seen it before. I think what bristle did was jump very high and pax thought he was flying like a bird. I think pax never learned this skill because he was found when he was only a baby and was never trained to be in the wild by him self like a normal fox.

  19. Brisle doesn't want runt go play with pax because she thinks pax is a bad infuance on Runt

  20. Pax is amazed at bristle because pax hasent seen anyone be that high befor so pax thought he was flying . He doesn't no how to jump that high .

  21. Pax thinks Bristle's brother was flying because he was in the air because he fell from a tree branch. Pax was amazed that her brother was flying because he can't do that and didn't think other foxes could. All the brother was really doing is falling from a tree, but he might have glided coming down. Pax probably never fell off a tree or tried to jump/fly before.
